Hi all,
I have a strange Problem with a Royal Coffee Bar, and I'm wondering what it would be,
I turn on the machine, warms up fine, I press any cup size, and it works fine, grinds and everything
but the second time i press a cup size it skips grinding all together but i notice a pump starts instead for a
few seconds then it brews hot water only, going through the cycle can you help me out on that one?
i can start the grinder in Manuel mode and it works in brewing mode at times too,
thanks all, and please ask more questions if needed, thanks,

I don't think so, But i did some testing on the doser switch, accidentally touched the doser wires on the Knock dispenser and Blew out a diode on the power board, what else could i have blown out in the process?

Hi,

You encountered a blown diode while touching the wires of the micowsitch or the power cables of the dispenser coil ??
Because the circuit of the dispenser coil does not contain a diode, I think, you have got a malfunctioning 5 VDC power supply on the main board --->
Diagram of the 5 VDC power supply

Is it possible that I blew something on the doser switch side?
There's a diode that blown on the power board, think it's from
Doser side since you said there's no diode there.

Hi,

We are not sure where the diode is integrated.
So, I think it's better to upload a hi-resolution foto that schows the blown diode.

I'll try to get pictures,
but how do i test the vdc power supply?
it seems like it's putting out 5 volts,

The power board's part number is M6AV10 and the diode D 10 blew, it's right next to diode D 13, same size
If you needs pictures let me know,

Hi rettaps,

No, I don't need a picture. I have got a M6AV10-board. Both diodes are Zeners .... D10 (value: 5V6) ist part of the 5 VDC-power supply. It acts as an overvoltage-protection ---->> picture #1 in the attachment. D13 (Value: 4V7) is part of a zero voltage crossing circuit. It determins the time at whith the resulting rectangle curve changes the voltage level. It ist supposed to be as close as possible to the zero crossing point of the mains sinus curve. ------>> picture # 2 in the attachment. C5 eliminates noise on the mains line.
Picture #3 shows the voltage wave of the ZVC-signal in the lower part derived from the sinus wave of the mains power.

and now the bad news: Get acquainted with the idea that the microprocessor may be damaged.

Harry

so you're stating the microprocessor may be damaged? why wouldn't the 5 vdc power supply be blown? isn't that before the Microprocesser?
I soldered in a regular diode and the display didn't go on, does that tell me the microprocesser is damage?
Thanks for the help by the way, I really appreciate it very much

Hallo,

D10 (Zener 5V6) is an additional protection of the 5 VDC power supply. In normal usage the 7805 regulator warrents a stable 5 VDC. In your system a short was created, that blew the diode. The overvoltage entered the power supply through the back door.
D13 is part of a 230 VAC circuit. Parrallel to D13 is the µP-Pin electronic. There ist a great chance, that the µP-Pin elctronic has been influenced. This is mere theory. It's up to you to change these Zeners and test the system.

Harry

Ok, i changed out the Zener diodes, but the machine still doesn't power on,
but i switched the cpu board from an exclusive and it powered right up,
so the power board works fine, but do i need a new CPU or do i need a whole new board including the
display? anyone know?

Hi,

You don't need a new display or keyboard. All you need is a new CPU. But your chances are better if you buy a used and tested cpu board, just in case if the short created more damage.

Hi,

The board you ordered carries the program version 3.68 / checksum FB3A. This board was used in a Royal Professional SUP 016 E.
Compare the program version with the sticker on the cpu of your old board.

yes, it's identical, i matched the CPU numbers it's exactly like the one i bought,
i did quite a bit of comparing, and it's identical,
only difference between the professional and coffee bar boards are the brown jumper on JP6 to
enable the direct water connection on the coffee bar.
correct me if i'm wrong.
